"People Power" Fists by Genevieve Ramos organic denim tote bag

$40.00
A note from the artist on the original painting that inspired the bag's design:

"This piece was painted as a live performance during a virtual protest organized by disabled artists and activists in Texas—I met the organizing artist through Instagram. The energy of that moment—shared across screens, bodies, and borders—infused every stroke.
Each fist is rendered in a different color—purple, red, and blue—symbolizing unity across difference. The blue-toned fist bears the Venus symbol, highlighting my passion for feminism. These hands are stylized with expressive brushwork, outlined in energetic strokes that suggest both motion and resilience.
Working in vivid acrylics on canvas, I often blend bold color palettes with symbolic forms to channel emotional urgency and visual power. Painting live added another layer to my process—it became both art and action, a real-time offering to the movement.
People Power is a visual statement about collective resistance. It insists that activism, especially in disabled communities, is not a solo act but a shared force—fueled by difference, grounded in care, and power in numbers".
-Genevieve Ramos
